Compensation:

$20.00-25.00/hr

Position Description:

Hand Me Up Shop Operations Supervisor responsibilities will encompass overseeing workroom operating procedures, including donation management, and engagement and oversight of the Inventory Team. You and your team will be directly responsible for managing processing of all incoming goods for sales floor readiness.

Support Interfaith’s mission to build a more loving and caring community through service by promoting the organization’s many programs and services available to South Montgomery and North Harris Counties.  

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee processing of all donations to the Hand Me Up Shop, including assisting with all selling and recycling program decisions
  • Provided oversight for donation pickup schedule   
  • Maintain level of excellence standards in processing procedures for donations, maintaining a clean, neat and organized back of house
  • Use Interfaith’s tools and data to identify key point indicators and action plans to elevate the needs of the business
  • Train and motivate inventory team to reach their fullest potential and to increase productivity and efficiency in a fun and inclusive environment
  • Coach inventory team on best practices and Interfaith Mission
  • Ensure all merchandise is 100% floor ready for staged for replenishment
  • Address staff concerns in a reasonable and fair manner consistent with the values expected by Interfaith in partnership with Assistant Store Manager & General Manager
  • Assist Management Team with floor moves, replenishment, inventory, workroom organization and merchandising
  • Ensure that all procedures, policies, and safety awareness are thoroughly understood
  • Assist Assistance Store Manager and Volunteer Coordinator on volunteer activities and special group projects
  • Other operational duties include assisting with specialty products and ordering of supplies based on needs of HMUS
  • Assist in Interfaith disaster recovery efforts
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Minimum experience level of 2 years

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in areas of study involving business, marketing or retail experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Personal computer experience and computer software in Word, Access, Excel helpful
  • Effective written and verbal skills
  • Ability to interpret instructional documents such as reports and procedure manuals
  • Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Ability to understand key metrics including sales and profitability
  • Self starter, able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must have good time management and sense of urgency skills
  • Must enjoy meeting and interacting with customers
  • Posses a thirst for learning
  • Should be comfortable with the use of computers and frequent use of POS equipment

Work Hours:

 Flexible with scheduling and available to work retail hours, which may include day, weekends, and/or holidays, based on department and store/organization needs.

  • Physical demands: Requires constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, and standing for at least two consecutive hours. May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.

Must be able to lift at least 50lbs
