Education and Experience: BA/BS with an emphasis in Accounting, Finance, or Economics or work equivalency. MBA or CPA preferred.
Technical Skills and Prior Experience: Five to seven years of experience in in financial planning and analysis, preferably within the insurance industry.
Skills and Knowledge: Strong understanding of insurance financial metrics, such as loss ratios, combined ratios, and underwriting performance. Strong proficiency in financial modeling and analysis, including advanced Excel skills. Strong verbal and written communication with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner. Above average interpersonal, supervisory and customer service, ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines, detail orientation, accuracy, honesty and integrity, delegation, follow-through, takes initiative, time management, confidential, decision making, analytical, and ability to build relationships.
Knowledge of Statutory Accounting principles.
Experience with large automated accounting and financial planning systems preferred. Must have strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications. Proficiency with PC hardware and peripherals.
