Description

Comunilife Inc. is looking to hire a Porter to join its Brooklyn Congregate team. The Porter/Housekeeper maintains the facility’s interior, exterior and entrances in a clean and safe manner as well as assists in maintaining office space and client units to agency and regulator and funder standards. This position is eligible for Comunilife's generous benefits and paid time off package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement employer contributions after 2 years, tuition reimbursement and professional development opportunities.
Essential Duties:
 
  • Clean hallways, rooms, offices and communal areas on a regularly scheduled basis.
  • Dispose of garbage in accordance with the facility schedule.
  • Complete work orders as assigned, particularly related to cleaning and disinfecting.
  • Accept and transport deliveries of supplies, furniture, and other program materials.
  • Collect and dispose of trash and garbage.
  • Report all emergency situations to the building’s Superintendent, i.e., loss of heat, leaks and power outages.
  • Participate in the moving of the clients including turn-over of apartments.
  • Prepare apartments for client occupancy including assisting with painting.
  • Provide back up in emergency safety situations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirement(s):
  • High School degree or equivalent
  • One year experience in related maintenance, housekeeper or porter experience
