Description

We are looking for a Senior Staff Accountant to join our Multi-family Accounting Team that will take care of full charge accounting for a portfolio of properties.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare year-end workpapers
  • Code invoices and review A/P
  • Review and analyze G/L activity
  • Work in a team environment and independently
  • Assist with the acquisition and disposition of assets
  • Maintain building files and review and interpret leases
  • Ensure compliance with property management contracts
  • Complete CAM & RET Reconciliations (Commercial only)
  • Analyze actual vs. budget variances and author variance notes
  • Prepare annual budgets and monitor monthly performance against same
  • Special projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager, Controller and/or CFO
  • Communicate effectively with property and company management team members
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements and various other reports as required by ownership/management

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related subject
  • Time management skills are a necessity
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook and Excel, especially)
  • Three to six (3-6) years of real estate accounting experience and proficiency using Yardi or equivalent program
  • Must have the ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision to complete accounting duties and tasks successfully
  • Ideal candidate will be detail oriented and possess excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving and interpersonal skills, have a strong work ethic and have the ability to meet deadlines
