Role Summary:

The Vice President of Business Intelligence offers leadership in the areas of data and analytics strategy in support of Gesa’s Strategic Imperatives and Goals. This position will provide strategic vision and inspire change for the credit union with effective data integration, governance, and integrity.  In addition, the Vice President will meet the needs of business lines to grow the credit union, increase efficiency and meet organizational metrics. As a member of the Leadership Team, the VP of Business Intelligence, has broad responsibility for driving the organization’s growth objectives as well as the quality and depth of member relationships. This team member will also be expected to serve as a role model for the company culture and maintain a positive attitude that promotes creativity, teamwork, and a favorable image of the company.

 

What You Will Be Doing:

  1. Provide leadership and oversight to the data warehouse, data lake, data architecture and integration, and data analytics teams.
  2. Demonstrated ability to create an innovative vision and lead and develop a team to deliver on the vision.
  3. Strong ability to glean insights and tell a story from data, analytics and insights inspiring action and change.
  4. Provide visionary leadership, foster innovation, and excellence, and build bridges, internally and externally, to support the achievement of our organizational strategy and objectives.
  5. Strong knowledge of the financial services market and member needs.
  6. Experience utilizing and applying statistical and machine learning methods such as propensity models, regression (logistic, linear), clustering, decision trees, random forest, Bayesian methods, etc.
  7. Proven ability to anticipate the quickly changing marketing and sales landscape and inspiring and aligning the team around a clear, achievable vision.
  8. Proven ability to work outside of the technology arena enough to understand and collaboratively partner with Retail, Marketing, Risk, Finance and Lending employees and leadership.
  9. Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and use data-driven insights to analyze and drive continuous improvement and innovation.
  10. Demonstrated passion for deepening relationships with members through data.
  11. Foster a culture of team member engagement while ensuring accountability to prominent levels of quality, productivity, and member relationships.
  12. Serve as an engaged member of the Executive Leadership Team and effectively contribute to team constructive collaboration, organization-wide strategy, communication, and leadership.
  13. Oversees the work of third-party subcontractors, partners, and integrations ensuring contract requirements and deliverables are met.
  14. Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders on project status, risks, and issues.

  5. Maintain deep knowledge of design, development, and implementation strategies of digital products.
  6. Deep knowledge of product sales and service and familiarity with member onboarding.
  7. Maintain up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge of all credit union products, services, policies, and procedures.
  8. Ability to work with other departments and influence vendor partners.
  9. Display respect for diversity: treat people with respect, keep commitments, and maintain a prominent level of integrity.
  10. Effectively communicate and receive ideas and information.
  11. Ability to create and manage a departmental budget.
  12. Ability to run project implementations similar to a project manager.

Qualifications

What You Will Need:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required.
  2. 10+ years of progressive leadership experience leading the Data Analytics Function.
  3. Three (3) plus years of Credit Union/Retail Banking experience.
  4. Thorough understanding of financial services and banking applications, especially the electronic and digital channels.
  5. Three to five years’ experience working with Sales Force Marketing Cloud and/or Sales Force Financial Services Cloud.  
  6. Broad understanding of underlying technology platforms.
  7. Proficiency with standard office equipment, computer programs, product management software.
  8. Some travel may be required to fulfill duties, career development, and/or responsibilities.

Salary Range:

$128,857.00 - $214,761.67
