Role Summary:

The Training & Development Specialist I brings experience and expertise to successfully drive the credit union’s efforts in learning and development. Under the general supervision of the Training & Development Team Leader, the Training & Development Specialist I provides training to team members relating to technical skills, operational systems, transactions, member services, lending, regulations, procedures, and other training needs as required. This position requires an in-depth knowledge of credit union processes and systems, advanced, wide-ranging job knowledge, and has demonstrated the ability to handle significant training. This position acts as a resource for front line team members and team leaders.

 

What You Will Be Doing:

  1. Use the Learning Management System (LMS) to create reports, enroll or withdraw team members to and from courses.
  2. Facilitate training content to team members on specified topics as identified by team leader or by approved request.
  3. Utilize individual training, adult learning theory, group instruction, demonstrations, and hands-on workshops. Effectively use training aids such as handbooks, visual aids, on-line compliance training, and tutorials. Maintain program data and tools to train staff and others. Plan and coordinate proper venues, timing, and modality.
  4. Maintain a solid working knowledge of the credit union’s vision, values, strategic initiatives, systems, policies, and procedures. Attend necessary training to learn new systems and understand system upgrades.
  5. Track progress of trainees through routine tests, course evaluation forms, observation, and feedback from team leaders. Evaluate the validity and effectiveness of training.
  6. Process daily correspondence and prepare reports and presentations utilizing computer applications and presentation equipment. Perform all administrative support activities necessary for completion of assigned tasks.
  7. Make recommendations to continuously improve internal processes, standards, and learning and development solutions.
  8. Respond to industry training surveys. Research and respond to training questions. Adhere to all State and Federal Employment laws as well as training regulations.
  9. Must understand and perform Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) functions as applicable to job responsibilities.
  10. Attend credit union training sessions, conferences, or seminars as approved by supervisor. Maintain awareness of policies and regulations related to duties and responsibilities.
  11. Make recommendations to training agenda or curriculum when subject matter is updated or when requested.
  12. Assist in the development of training curriculum when requested.
  13. Perform all duties and maintain all sensitive data with the highest standard of confidentiality and professionalism. Consistently display respect for all areas of diversity and levels of knowledge; never undermine colleagues.
  14. Display mutual respect, trust, and dignity, acting in the best interest of the credit union at all times.  Display solid ethics and integrity.

 

About You:

  1. Proven facilitation and presentation skills with the ability to engage, educate and motivate.
  2. Strong organizational skills: ability to build/set schedules and adhere to projects.
  3. Knowledge of credit union deposit and lending operations.
  4. Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills. Excellent listening skills and customer service attributes.
  5. Proficient in the Credit Union’s computer applications, including teller and lending operational systems.
  6. Proficiency with MS Office programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), standard office equipment, and presentation equipment is required.
  7. Must possess clear and effective oral and written communication skills. Comprehensive knowledge of training regulations and requirements required.
  8. Understand adult learning theory, facilitation skills, process improvement know-how, and ability to project ideas.

Qualifications

What You Will Need:

  1. One to three years of similar or related job experience.
  2. Two-year college degree or equivalent. Related experience may be substituted in lieu of the educational requirements.
  3. Must consistently display courtesy, tact, and diplomacy.
  4. Must possess and display excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.
  5. Must maintain professional demeanor and appearance.
  6. Independent travel is required to complete duties and attend training as necessary.
  7. A valid Driver’s License is required.

Salary Range:

$24.34-$36.50
