Role Summary:

Under the direction of the VP of Home Loans the Mortgage Market Sales Manager/Team Leader will direct, manage, and coordinate the functions of the Home Loan origination team located in the region assigned.  Directly manages the production, activities, performance, operations, and compliance of the Home Loan origination team.

 

What You Will Be Doing:

  1. Contributes to the organizations mission statement and goals by providing the highest quality of service, treating each person professionally, with warmth, courtesy and respect, cross-selling additional services, and making a personal effort to ensure members feel they belong and are important to Gesa Credit Union.
  2. Oversees the Home Loan Officers (HLO) who are tasked with external business for the CU: assigned production including number of sales, cross sales (if applicable), pipeline management, efficiencies, and effectiveness. 
  3. Overall responsibility for the achievement of assigned Loan Officers meeting production goals while also having personal production goals assigned.  Player/Coach type management and leadership.
  4. Facilitate the fulfillment of the loan process by collaborating with the Loan Officer, Credit Analyst and Loan Processors.
  5. Interviews, hires, trains, evaluates, supervises, schedules, coaches, and develops regional staff as needed to provide responsive and professional service to the CU membership.
  6. Provides recommendation to management of changes to products, loan policies and procedures by following lending laws and regulations.
  7. Maintains thorough and current knowledge of the Conventional, Jumbo’s, Construction, FHA, FNMA, HUD, VA, and other investor requirements; recommend changes as necessary to the Credit Union policy manual.
  8. Monitors various reports that are assigned.
  9. Assists HLOs in developing and executing a business plan for their area that aligns with the CU’s Strategic plan.
  10. Conducts annual reviews and assist setting goals for team members.
  11. Recognizes problems with both structuring and quality of loan files.  Assist in training and problem solving to improve service offered by the CU, address complaints and resolve problems.
  12. Attends trainings, conferences, and webinars to keep abreast of new developments in the field of loans and changing government regulations and ensuring staff is kept informed.
  13. Works with marketing to create marketing materials, campaigns, and signature for production staff.
  14. Ensures the protection of the CU’s interests in matters of adequate documentation and adherence to credit union policy as well as various laws and regulations applicable to department operations.
  15. Maintains thorough and current knowledge of the Conventional, Jumbo, Construction, FHA, FNMA, HUD, VA, and other investor requirements; recommends changes as necessary to the CU’s policy manual.
  16. Communicates effectively with CU team members; ensures coordination and exchange of information to accomplish CU goals. Displays respect, trust, and dignity always, acting in the best interest of the CU. Leads by example, consistently displaying solid ethics and integrity. Controls risk and manages real estate lending in a safe and sound manner.
  17. Recommends procedures and guidance to changes and revisions for the mortgage department.
  18. Performs other functions that might be needed from time to time to assist others in completing tasks and work assignments.
  19. Maintains an efficiently operating department of well-trained and performing team members working interdependently as a team.
  20. Ensures that HLO’s meet or exceed monthly production goals and that each HLO meets or exceeds the CU standards for professionalism, courtesy, tact, efficiency, and effectiveness

Qualifications

What You Will Need:

  1. Five (5) years of experience in Mortgage Lending; previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
  2. Bachelor’s Degree desirable, but not required.
  3. Must currently possess a valid NMLS Mortgage Loan Originator Identification (MLO) Number or be willing to obtain and maintain this credential within (timeframe) of starting this role.

$91,774.86-$137,662.29
