Role Summary:

Under the general supervision of the IT Core Applications Manager/Team Leader, the IT Applications Administrator I is primarily responsible for the administration and maintenance of enterprise core applications across multiple programs

 

What You Will Be Doing:

  1. Management and administration of a variety of core enterprise applications including but not limited to document archiving, item processing, online banking, and elements of the core banking systems. 
  2. Ensure sensitive data is protected with the highest standard of security and confidentiality.
  3. Develop and maintain procedures for automation of routine tasks to improve efficiency and reliability.
  4. Participate in the project management process.  When necessary, taking ownership of tasks and projects to ensure the timely completion.
  5. Implement and enforce best practices for application deployment, configuration, and documentation.
  6. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, assess needs, and implement solutions that align with business goals.
  7. Maintain general knowledge of other departments within the credit union. Have a general knowledge of all service products offered by the credit union that create a document to be archived.
  8. Perform duties in areas of responsibility in a safe and sound manner, control risk, inform IT management regarding status changes, concerns, potential improvements, etc., relating to assigned responsibilities.  Escalate and/or inform Credit Union management staff of issues pertaining to impaired performance or outages that effect delivery of services to members and/or employees.
  9. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to applications, integrating with other systems, and user access.
  10. Ensure internal service standards, computing standards, internal controls, security initiatives, and disaster recovery plans are understood, implemented, and followed.
  11. Ensure upgrades are planned and completed, maintaining compliance with standards and control procedures.
  12. Configure, maintain, and upgrade application servers and databases to support business operations.
  13. Ensure the performance of applications through proactive monitoring and regular maintenance.
  14. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to applications, integrating with other systems, and user access.
  15. Maintain knowledge of current and evolving technology, evaluate changes in or new technology, and provide management with information relevant to new technologies (hardware, software, or services) that could be beneficial.
  16. Protect all sensitive data utilizing the highest standard of confidentiality and professionalism.
  17. Interact with vendors and suppliers regarding the acquisition of new products and/or services, changes to products or services provided by the vendor, changes to established vendor service levels, and issues relating to the support of hardware or software including changes to equipment and maintenance support contracts.
  18. Participates in the planning, implementation, maintenance, and testing of a comprehensive Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity Planning program.
  19. Participate in short and long-range technology planning to select and utilize appropriate technologies to meet the evolving needs of the Credit Union and its members.
  20. Demonstrate support of corporate values, strategy, mission, and vision. Perform job duties within these standards and in accordance with the guidelines of our bylaws and regulations. Consistently display respect for all areas of diversity and levels of knowledge.
  21. Maintain awareness of laws, rules, regulations, and policies and procedures which impact position duties and responsibilities.
  22. Ensure professional behavior is displayed and requests are satisfactorily resolved within the required time frame.
  23. Must understand and perform Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) functions as applicable to job responsibilities.
  24. Attend credit union training sessions, conferences, or seminars as approved by supervisor. 
  25. Maintain awareness of policies and regulations related to duties and responsibilities.
  26. Participate in defining the areas of responsibility that require additional support from within IT and provide cross-training opportunities to ensure there is no “single point of failure” in respect to functional coverage of responsibilities.

 

About You:

  1. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  2. Strong multi-tasking skills.
  3. Strong knowledge of troubleshooting skills, techniques, and tools.
  4. Familiarity of relational databases- Oracle and Microsoft
  5. Solid knowledge of IT technologies process and procedures.
  6. Understanding of IIS Web Services
  7. Working knowledge of the Financial Industry is desirable.
  8. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
  9. Familiarity of server and shared storage management
  10. Ability to contribute to process improvement efforts.

Qualifications

What You Will Need:

  1. Associate degree or related equivalent of specialized courses, training, and/or directly related experience may be substituted.
  2. A minimum of two years of similar or related technical experience.
  3. A minimum of three years of experience in the Financial Industry.  Thorough knowledge and understanding of credit union services and products preferred.
  4. Ability to quickly grasp and adapt to changes in technology, evolving technologies, and new technologies.
  5. Proficient with standard office equipment, computer hardware and software, and Microsoft programs.
  6. Familiarity with data processing and standard reporting programs.
  7. Ability to organize, prioritize and respond simultaneously to multiple tasks and requests.
  8. Ability to effectively communicate ideas and information, both orally and in writing. 
  9. Ability to analyze and report information and recommend achievable process improvements.
  10. Ability to analyze and complete the functions necessary to convert documents to their digital form.
  11. Ability to promote and participate in a cohesive team environment.
  12. Ability to take ownership of tasks as well as delegate tasks appropriately.
  13. Ability to travel to complete assigned responsibilities and attend professional seminars and education as approved.
