Job Summary:
We may hire at the Senior Director level or at the Director level depending on experience, which will affect where this hire will land in the pay range. Lower to mid range is for Director level and the mid to high end is for Senior level. Sega of America is seeking a Director of Commercial Strategy enthusiastic about the intersection between gaming and business. This is a leadership position that drives data-driven initiatives to improve financial decisions and market research to inform business strategy. It is a highly cross-functional role that will work with publishing, development, and corporate teams to realize short-term and long-term growth in the business.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership to direct and improve forecasting process for greenlight titles
- Drive development of the strategy story for each title in conjunction with other departments and identify big picture points for each inline
- Cover entire console/PC portfolio in Western territories with team members in both US and UK
- Push the team to innovate and improve current processes while understanding what’s working from an overall company perspective
- Facilitate professional growth of the team and strengthen collaboration within and between departments
- Conceptualize and develop publishing strategy to support commercial teams
- Optimize pricing, promo, and SKU plans with data-driven recommendations
- Develop new tactics and insights to improve performance on digital storefronts
- Spearhead analysis on regional performance and localization efficacy while linking research to action in focus territories
- Leverage market research to develop domain expertise and become an internal thought leader for key stakeholders
- Build trust with development and publishing teams across the globe as a resource for any commercial questions
- Keep tabs on emerging technologies and market advancements with an eye out for key items that could influence Sega’s overall strategy
- Serve as a backbone for research vendor relationships, stepping in to offer guidance at key moments as necessary
- Determine high level direction for yearly strategy meetings with key stakeholders
- Support business development with commercial perspective and financial evaluations
- Other duties as assigned.
- Working in-office is an essential function of this position. This requirement of face-to-face interaction is in place to ensure effective supervision, collaboration, and teamwork. In-office attendance is required for the following reasons:
