Summary:
The Administrative Assistant for Human Resources plays a vital role in supporting the department's operational effectiveness by managing communications, overseeing documentation processes, and facilitating key projects. This position requires a proactive individual with excellent organizational and multitasking skills, capable of handling sensitive information and coordinating various HR initiatives in a dynamic environment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for general HR inquiries and internal/external communications.
- Manage daily office operations, including scheduling, procurement of supplies, and logistical arrangements for meetings and events.
- Support HR staff with the facilitation of onboarding and offboarding, benefit enrollments, employee engagement initiatives, and recognition programs.
- Audit and maintain organized employee records (physical and digital) to ensure compliance with institutional and legal standards.
- Oversee and conduct background checks for employees and students.
- Prepare and distribute HR reports, track expenditures, and assist with budget oversight.
- Coordinate special projects, ensuring timely execution and collaboration across teams.
- Facilitate internal communications through newsletters, announcements, and updates.
- Maintain and update campus directories as needed.
- Handle other duties as assigned while fostering a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for employees and visitors.
