Earlham College is seeking an Assistant Director of Residence Life-Residence Education to join our team!
Summary:
Assist the Director and Associate Director with designing and administering the Residence Life education and programming model, focusing on supporting strategic goals for the department and the College’s mission.
Essential Functions:
- Serve as part of the office’s leadership team, offering guidance to Area Directors and student staff and helping oversee the College's residence life program.
- With guidance from the Director of Residence Life, serve as the primary coordinator of residence education and programming initiatives for Residence Life.
- Oversee tracking of student staff’s work to meet programming and job expectations.
- Support Area Director training as part of the office’s leadership team.
- Organize and facilitate student staff training (Hall Directors and Resident Assistants).
- Provide guidance as part of the leadership team to Area and Hall Directors facilitating staff training, staff search, and DEI initiatives.
- Assist with the administration of the residence life programming and expense budget.
- Serve as a student conduct officer, assist with student conduct response training for Area Directors, and help with case management/documentation processes for the department’s response to student conduct concerns, ensuring the timely recording, reporting, and necessary follow-up on conduct incidents.
- Serve as part of the Early Alert response team, engaging in regular efforts to check in with students of concern.
- Respond to residential issues and campus crises.
- Prepare regular reports that outline programs, activities, achievements, and improvements, including recommendations for the Residence Life program.
- Assist with special programs/services such as room selection, break housing and on-call duty coverage, early arrivals, opening/closing of halls, and camps or conferences as needed.
- Attend weekly one-on-one supervisory meetings, leadership team meetings, and staff supervisor team meetings.
- Participate in College faculty meetings, college or divisional activities, projects, and committees as assigned.
- Participate in professional associations and other professional development activities as approved.
- Serve as part of the crisis response and after-hours on-call rotation for residence life staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
