Resident Advisor- Overnight

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Overnight Residential Advisor will provide residential clients with supportive services in a positive and nurturing environment using an integrated, multidisciplinary team approach.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

(Responsibilities to include but not limited to the following)

  • Assist in the assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of the clients' holistic plan

  • Maintain documentation of clients' activities on the unit and during their residency with the Agency

  • Monitor client activities to ensure a safe and secure environment and conduct room searches 

  • Provide group support services such as escorting clients to the cafeteria for meals, recreation, group therapy sessions and special activities

  • Participate in team, case-management and staff meetings

  • Generate a monthly report and contract documentation as needed by the case manager and social worker

  • Conduct workshops on various life-skill issues, such as hygiene, anger management, self-esteem, and problem-solving

  • Regular attendance and punctuality is essential to provide proper coverage of the unit

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

Education & Experience

  • Experience working with at-risk youth is strongly preferred.

  • Driver’s license preferred.  Comfortability driving a 7-passenger van is a plus.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Excellent organizational skills to develop living situations for young adults.

  • Ability to monitor and de-escalate in a crisis situation.

  • Ability to follow instructions, prioritize assignments and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Flexible work schedule to include evenings, weekends and holidays.

  • Dedicated to the mission of Covenant House.

 

Schedule 10:00 pm - 8:00 am

Hourly rate $17.79
