REPORTS TO: Direct Service Manager

DIRECT REPORTS:  None 

SALARY: $37,000 - $37, 000 annually

LOCATION: Shelter, 41st Street, NY NY 10036

Job Summary

The Overnight Residential Advisor will provide residential clients with supportive services in a positive and nurturing environment using an integrated, multidisciplinary team approach.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

(Responsibilities to include but not limited to the following)

  • Assist in the assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of the clients' holistic plan
  • Maintain documentation of clients' activities on the unit and during their residency with the Agency
  • Monitor client activities to ensure a safe and secure environment and conduct room searches
  • Provide group support services such as escorting clients to the cafeteria for meals, recreation, group therapy sessions, and special activities
  • Participate in team, case-management, and staff meetings
  • Generate a monthly report and contract documentation as needed by the case manager and social worker
  • Conduct workshops on various life-skill issues, such as hygiene, anger management, self-esteem, and problem-solving
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are essential to provide proper coverage of the unit

  • Performs other duties as assigned and needed.

Qualifications

  • High School/GED with 1 year of relevant work experience required. Bachelors Degree Preferred
  • Experience working with at-risk youth is strongly preferred.
  • Driver's license preferred. Comfortability driving a 7-passenger van is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills to develop living situations for young adults.
  • Ability to monitor and de-escalate in a crisis situation.
  • Ability to follow instructions, prioritize assignments and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible work schedule to include evenings, weekends and holidays.
