Summary of Purpose:  Manage and lead all daily operations at Willow Hope Farm, including    outreach events.

Duties (Essential Functions):

  • Manage overall daily operations of the equine staff through effective delegation, support, motivation and fair leadership of all team members
  • Responsible for managing the KHS equine facility and ensuring all areas are clean and presentable
  • Responsible for hiring, training, reviewing, recognizing, terminating and disciplinary measures of equine staff
  • Ensure adequate coverage and covering absences as needed with staff and/or volunteers
  • Respond to incoming calls, emails and messages in a timely fashion
  • Send basic information to clients (adoption application, links to horses on website, etc.)
  • Thank/acknowledge donations through Amazon
  • Process accounting paperwork such as check requests, purchase orders, receipts, etc.
  • Ensure monies collected each week are accounted for and provided to accounting department; manage and reconcile department petty cash
  • Provide data and feedback on equine annual budget and adhere to budget goals
  • File/maintain records at WHF for vehicles, farm equipment and repairs
  • Schedule and conduct or facilitate tours, volunteer orientation and assessments and any other outreach-related activities at Willow Hope Farm; keep a comprehensive calendar of events at the farm and ensure staff is aware of upcoming events
  • Recruit volunteers, provide orientation, maintain schedule and provide any other support or communication as needed (does not involve training to work with horses)
  • Assist the Volunteer Manager with scheduling, selection of projects, and on-site supervision for volunteer work groups at WHF
  • Oversee pre-event, post-event and run of show success for outreach events at WHF
  • Schedule and organize activities, logistics communications and follow up for events at WHF (catering, compiling meeting packets, ensuring visual presentations and AV needs are met, sending invoices, etc.) 
  • Participate in KHS events as needed by representing the Equine C.A.R.E. program
  • Other duties assigned by their direct report

Qualifications

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of management or supervisory experience preferred
  • Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Self-directed with ability to work independently/meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment with little direct supervision
  • Ability to envision long range goals and apply them to daily operations
  • Ability to communicate respectfully and effectively with people of all backgrounds and personalities
  • Humane attitude toward animals
  • Ability to manage the emotional aspect of end-of-life services and humane euthanasia, and support staff in high-emotion circumstances
  • Accept, support and represent KHS core values, programs, policies and procedures
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record and be willing to drive KHS vehicles
  • Background Check required

 

Physical Demands/Working Environment

  • Individual will have extended periods of sitting, talking and listening.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, walking and standing on a regular basis while performing job functions.
  • Frequently lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to or exceeding 50 lbs.
  • Local travel - Includes frequent off-site meetings and a variety of KHS locations (includes mileage reimbursement)
  • Able to work evenings, weekends as needed.
  • Includes working in an indoor desk environment, some outdoor work at events
