Hampden-Sydney College is accepting applications for a Program Manager for Experiential Programs and Student Employment. Reporting to the Director of Ferguson Career Center, the Program Manager for Experiential Programs and Student Employment is responsible for supporting the College mission by enhancing the range of experiential opportunities for students and elevating the on-campus student employment experience. This role focuses on developing partnerships on and off campus, ensuring students have access to substantive, developmental experiences that support informed career decisions. The Program Manager also collaborates with campus and external partners to manage experiential learning programs, promote student employment, and ensure student career readiness.
Duties
Provides leadership for all experiential learning initiatives within the Career Center. Develops Hampden-Sydney signature programs focused on short-term experiential learning options.
Develops and maintains relationships with employers to establish new programs and enhance existing ones. Serves as the main point of contact for experiential learning opportunities and works with various campus partners to streamline processes for sharing opportunities.
Collaborates with other campus stakeholders to develop tools for tracking student experiences and measuring program outcomes. Manages a post-experience reflection program to assess the impact of experiential learning on student development.
Designs and implements pre-internship group sessions to prepare students for positive internship experiences. Oversees summer internship check-ins (both virtual and on-site) and ensures support for students throughout their internship experiences.
Oversees the posting and marketing of on-campus and work-study employment opportunities. Works with faculty and staff to ensure understanding of the hiring process and policies for on-campus positions, with a focus on creating high-impact learning opportunities.
Develops initiatives to recognize student achievements in experiential programs and student employment. Supports student employee recognition efforts and works with faculty and staff to enhance the quality of on-campus employment experiences.
Develops initiatives to recognize student achievements in career development and supports competition-based programs to further career readiness.
Provides one-on-one and group advising to students on best practices for applications and competitive positioning in the job market.
Participates in professional development programs and associations to stay current on industry trends and best practices.
Performs other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
