Assistant Lacrosse Coach

Hampden-Sydney College has an immediate opening for an Assistant Lacrosse Coach.  Under the direction of the head lacrosse coach and director of athletics, recruit successful lacrosse student-athletes through the development of a variety of contacts; guide and support student-athletes in their academic, social, personal and athletic lives; coach student-athletes in their sport. Develop a sense of trust and commitment to a group, the leadership qualities of the individual and the commitment to positive and successful team and individual goals. 

The recruitment of qualified student-athletes to Hampden-Sydney and our lacrosse program will be a major aspect of the effectiveness of this position. Responsibilities will include prospecting and consistent communication with lacrosse prospects and recruits nationally. The successful candidate will engage in recruiting travel throughout the year, including the summer months, as assigned by the head coach. In addition to on and off the field coaching, the candidate will also assist with off-season workouts.

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree, four years of collegiate playing experience, and successful lacrosse coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Must be willing to work effectively within the rules of the NCAA and the ODAC as well as proven organizational and communication skills. This is a full-time, 12-month position with benefits.
