OVERVIEW AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The Director of Business Development, Procurement is responsible for leading and executing strategic procurement initiatives to drive business growth and operational efficiency. This role involves developing comprehensive procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. They will align procurement activities with the company’s overall business objectives.
- Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies that align with the company's business objectives
- Lead and manage the procurement team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional growth
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish strong relationships to ensure the best value for the company
- Monitor market trends and conduct competitive analysis to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of procurement strategies with other business functions
- Manage a pipeline
- Manage contacts with a proactive approach
- Attend events, conferences, and stakeholder meetings
- Oversee the development and implementation of procurement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Manage the procurement budget and ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions
- Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, performance metrics, and strategic initiatives to senior management
- Perform other job-related duties as directed by supervisor.
