The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for identifying, coordinating and implementing staff recruitment strategies to ensure the availability of qualified applicants for office and supervisor-level openings. Attracts candidates using various sources such as community partner relationships, social media networks, and employee referrals. Works with supervisors on retention techniques. Supports HR with department administrative tasks and conducts audits in HRIS. Collaborates and maintains relationships with Directors, Coordinators, and office staff.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Recruitment

  • Update and post new open positions. Ensure that postings comply with federal, state and local requirements.
  • Collaborate with Coordinators and Directors on position vacancies and the strategy to be used in the hiring process
  • Work with the locations Directors and Coordinators to assess fit
  • Generate offer letters and provide onboarding support for mid- and upper-level positions.

Administrative Tasks

  • Review and process unemployment claims and maintain documentation for internal reporting
  • Audit I-9s for new hires
  • Review and process personnel changes
  • Update administrator access to HRIS for new supervisors
  • Generate, manipulate, and follow up on HR reports
  • Support management and HR trainings
  • Organize and maintain relevant documentation
  • Audit and update employee information in HRIS
  • Verify employment as needed
  • Manage and deliver company-wide communications ensuring accurate information concerning policies, documents, and changes
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED required. College degree in a related field, and/or PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
  • 1-2 years of human resources experience required
  • 1-2 years of administrative office experience required
  • Proficient in computer software including Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, G Suite, etc.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State and Local employment law and best practices.

TRAVEL

  • 5-15% of time requirements
  • Monthly travel to offices in the state. Occasional travel to other states for HR team meetings.

WORK AUTHORIZATION& CLEARANCE

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Ability to pass criminal background check and driving record check

PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Occasionally required to lift and move up to 30 pounds of paper, files and/or equipment.
  • Able to sit for extended periods (1-2 hour blocks) of time to enter data into multiple systems, conduct face-to-face meetings or interviews
  • Occasionally required to attend or conduct long meetings (3-4 hours in duration).
  • Able to stand for extended periods (2-4 hour blocks) of conduct training or attend job fairs
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions, deal with difficult people, and handle multiple assignments with specific deadlines.
  • Able to have appropriate interactions and maintain professionalism
  • Able to read and interpret written information, including laws and regulations
  • Regularly required to use their fingers, hands, arms and eyes to type.
  • Frequently required to speak to and appropriately respond to employees & managers on the phone.
