Description

PURPOSE:
Responsible for the oversight of all therapy services provided by RISE EI and Therapy for Developmental Disabilities, LLC, in the East Valley, supporting East Maricopa County, Pima and Pinal counties, with travel to Tucson. Establish and maintain relationships with professional programs and referral sources for recruitment of new therapists and clients. Provide guidance and coaching to program staff to assist in achieving competency in the performance of their job requirements in a manner consistent with the RISE EI Mission, Vision, and Values. Assure the contractual compliance of subcontractors. Work with the Executive Director of Early Intervention Services to ensure therapy staffing is adequate and timely service delivery to AzEIP children. Ensure continued compliance with the contract with the Division of Developmental Disabilities and oversee any clinical locations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Demonstrate knowledge in AzEIP policies and procedures
Recruit, train, coach, and support new therapists                                                                                                                              Implement recruitment plan including hosting students, posting openings as appropriate, interviewing and hiring qualified candidates
Ensure all staff, employees and sub-contractors are properly trained in service delivery and expectations to deliver quality supports and meet funding source requirements
Ensure programs meet expectations of RISE Corporate and state policies and procedures; and all requirements of funding agencies; ensure compliance for all contractual requirements through use of Quality Assurance measures
Manage the maintenance of necessary records, databases, files and other required documentation in a professional, confidential and secure manner
Conduct, attend or facilitate regular staff meetings through regular supervision, feedback and performance evaluations, ensure that staff, employees, and contractors effectively perform the essential functions of their positions
Professional written and verbal communication with children, families, team members, DES/DDD/AzEIP/ASDB personnel, other professional providers and community members; coordinate and monitor delivery of services among multiple agencies, medical and health providers
Ability to build relationships and to communicate with multiple customers including the families receiving support, service professionals, foster parents, advisors, natural parents, state personnel and others.
Ability to interpret and implement RISE policies/procedures regarding team based model early intervention services, and DES/DDD/AzEIP policies
Ensure that all communication and interaction with consumers, families, children, employees, contractors, and other stakeholders is conducted in a culturally competent manner
Flexible schedule, willing to work evenings or weekends, as needed


MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervision of therapists performance including: case file auditing, timely receipt of documentation and billing efficacy management
Perform and document regular one on one supervision with therapists including continuous file/case reviews, and routine performance feedback
Support therapists with family complaint resolution
Complete all projects as assigned
May carry a small caseload – not to exceed 15 ongoing families

EQUIPMENT NORMALLY USED:
- Telephone, cell phone, computer, fax machine, copier, TDD use or texting mechanisms as needed for the hearing impaired


PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:
- Ability to greet the public, use the telephone and effectively communicate with multiple customers including the people RISE supports, parents, the state, staff, and others.
- Required to be accessible by cell phone.                                                                                                                                        - Travel to attend meetings/training, and to provide services in a natural setting.
- Ability to work under stressful conditions that may include dealing with difficult people and handling multiple work assignments.

 

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor's degree in Speech Therapy, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy
- Experience working with early intervention using a team based model approach preferred.
- Experience with recruitment including advertising and marketing as well as interviewing and hiring new staff
- At least two years’ experience with management, training, and development of staff
- Experience creating, evaluating, and implementing systems to monitor program policy/procedure and contractual compliance
- Ability to communicate effectively in individual or group situations including effective listening skills
- Ability to build relationships and to communicate with multiple customers including the families receiving support, service professionals, foster parents, advisors, natural parents, state personnel and others
- Ability to work flexible hours; self-directed, and self-starter
