Senior Staff Accountant

POSITION SUMMARY: A professional who supports and assists the Accounting Managers in the Accounting and Finance department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Oversee and assist employees with their time management
2. Prepare payroll
3. Administer posting of transactions for accounts receivable and payable in our ERP program.
4. Process daily cash application for accounts receivable
5. Daily verification of incoming electronic payments on accounts receivable
6. Work with the staff accountants on internal and external customer inquiries related to financial transactions
7. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual sales tax, usage tax, and retail delivery tax for several states.
8. Calculate and invoice quarterly franchise royalties
9. Reconcile bank statements and activities
10. Have an understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley Act
11. Special projects as directed by supervisors
12. Perform other work-related duties as assigned

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

1. Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
2. A minimum of three years of experience in accounting or finance
3. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Products is required
4. Must be able to carefully follow written and verbal instructions and work well under pressure.
5. Must be able to accurately convey written and verbal instructions to others.
6. Must have strong organizational skills to prioritize several tasks at any given time
7. Strong attention to detail.
8. Desire to learn and grow as an accountant with the company.
9. Must be able to frequently type and perform data entry for extended periods of time.
10. Must be able to occasionally bend, reach, grasp small objects, and lift up to 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
