- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required. CPA or advanced degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position is required with experience in a non-profit setting strongly preferred.
- MBA, MPA, JD, CPA or equivalent experience preferred, with 501(c)(3) not-for-profit religious groups is preferred.
- Supervisory experience in accounting or business management is strongly preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of non-profit governance, management, accounting, financial planning and business processes.
- High level of proficiency with MS Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of the structure and polity of The United Methodist Church preferred.
- Successful experience with design and implementation of internal controls systems.
- Strong verbal, written communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Willingness and ability to support the vision, mission and critical issues and core values of the Annual Conference
