Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a per diem Neurologist, Remote EEG Reader, to join the Department of Medicine, Allergist at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County. The Hospitals are part of NYC Health + Hospitals which is the nation’s largest public health system. King County is a 639-bed, Level I Trauma Center located in Brooklyn. In 1955, Kings County surgeons performed the first open-heart surgery in New York State. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University to maintain its high healthcare delivery standards. If desired all Medicine Faculty Members have SUNY Downstate Health Sciences for academic appointments.

The Attending Physician, under the general direction of the Chief of Service or designee, is responsible for the provision of professional general or specialty medical work of ordinary difficulty. In collaboration with internal stakeholders, the Attending Physician is responsible for the planning, coordination, delivery, and management of comprehensive healthcare services. The Physician is also immediately responsible for the supervision of advanced practice providers, technicians, and other providers; and generally, coordinates a multispecialty team.
- In the Neurology department, we treat acute stroke patients with tPA - Thrombectomy cases are transferred.
- We have won the AHA/ASA GWTG (Get With The Guidelines) gold plus award in stroke for 6 years in a row!
- We have routine EEG capabilities during working hours. EEG interpretations are not required as they are read by an outside provider. EMG interpretations are not required as well as this is done by the Rehab department.
