About the role:

The Engineer, Jungheinrich Liaison is responsible for research, release, implementation, and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components and systems provided by Jungheinrich Design Center Houston (JH DCH) at Mitsubishi Logisnext Americas (MLA) Houston. Apply engineering principles and techniques to meet MLA, DCH, customer, and industry specifications. Maintain product documentation, including creation of part numbers, bills of material (BOM's), and Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings, etc. using enterprise systems such as Windchill and BPCS. Provide technical support and direction to Manufacturing, Quality, Test, Purchasing, Production Planning, Service Engineering, and Product Managers for product lines under the teams responsibility.

  

What you will do:

  • Create Engineering Orders (EO) to describe and release design/design updates within MLA. Complete drawing upload, new part creation, Bill of Material entry, and revision changes in Windchill. Creating EO's applies to current product maintenance (CPE), custom design orders (CSM), new product development (NPD), and Service support. Explain and provide information on EO changes to cross functional teams for implementation.
  • Maintain open communication and relationship with DCH to facilitate all duties and responsibilities listed. Coordinate exchange of drawings and information, communication on design details and drawing comments, quality and supplier feedback, in person meetings for troubleshooting, and planning completion dates.
  • Provide technical support and direction to Manufacturing, Quality, and Production Planning for product lines under the teams responsibility to maintain line productivity. Investigate/troubleshoot issues brought to the team and provide guidance if available or communicate with DCH to determine a path to resolution. Manufacturing and Quality support includes managing current product investigations (CPI's), verbal and email communication, and deviation requests.
  • Provide technical support and direction to the Test group. This will include logging test requests (TRQ) to detail and initiate testing activities for stability testing, new or alternate components/parts, UL compliance, EMC testing, etc. Managing stability test list to keep it up to date with production for tracking and test planning.
  • Provide technical support and direction to Service Engineering for field issues and initiatives.

 

When & Where:

  • Provide technical support and direction to Service Engineering for field issues and initiatives.
  • Some travel may be required for troubleshooting and/or training opportunities.

What you need to have:

  • Mechanical and/or electrical and/or hydraulic knowledge and ability to learn and grow in these areas
  • Ability to check designs and drawings for form, fit, function, feasibility, and manufacturability.
  • Engineering management system experience, ability to understand the complexity of BOMs across product models, and manage changes accordingly
  • Effective decision making, communication skills, root cause analysis and ability to work with highly technical cross functional project teams
  • Self-motivated with exceptional organizational skills and detail oriented
  • Flexible and adaptive to changing priorities, maintaining multiple tasks, and results oriented
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal, team building
  • Proficient at MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.)

 

What would be nice to have:

  • 2-3 years in a manufacturing related field
  • Experience working with engineering teams, purchasing teams, and suppliers for component development
  • Experience with engineering design processes and ability to innovate to improve processes
  • Hands on approach and mechanical/electrical aptitude to install components and systems
  • Working knowledge of ASTM, SAE, CEN and UL standards
  • Working knowledge of ITA and ITSDF / industrial equipment industry
