InterExchange is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Collections & Billing Specialist to support the collections and billing processes for our four unique cultural exchange programs. Reporting to the Senior Billing Manager, you will be integral to maintaining smooth operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and contributing to process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
As a Collections & Billing Specialist, you will:
- Analyze customer accounts daily, review aged receivables, and initiate established collection processes for overdue accounts.
- Prepare monthly Accounts Receivable status reports for the Senior Billing Manager and program directors.
- Serve as a liaison between Host Families, Au Pair program participants, International Cooperators, and other stakeholders to facilitate timely collections.
- Collaborate with the AP/Payroll Specialist to identify and apply unknown cash receipts to customer accounts.
- Establish and monitor payment plans for Host Families, ensuring alignment with our credit card system.
- Provide billing support to customers, including creating and distributing invoices, credit memos, and account statements.
- Assist with year-end audits, data cleanup projects, and reconciliation tasks.
- Offer occasional backup support to finance team members as needed.
Ideal candidates will have:
- 1–2 years of customer service experience, preferably in collections or billing.
- Strong computer skills, including advanced Excel proficiency.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to handle high volumes of transactions with accuracy.
- Strong reconciliation and time management skills.
- A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work independently and adapt to shifting priorities.
- A passion for working with numbers.
- Authorization to work in the United States for any employer.

Work Schedule
- New York City - hybrid work available 2-3 days per week in our Manhattan office
- Monday to Friday; 9:30-5:30 pm EST, option for flexible start and end times
- 35 hour workweek

- Compensation Range: $60-70k per year, annualized, depending on experience
