Description

Position Summary: Develop relationships with local employers in order to assist clients with job placement. Attend local and regional job fairs and other workforce related forums in order to assist clients with job placement.

Monday-Saturday hours required and some weekday evenings hours as well.

Position Description:

  • Develop specific cooperative programs and/or support for new and/or ongoing programs
  • Identify and cultivate relevant job opportunities for present and future clients
  • Coordinate and deliver corresponding presentations to internal and external customers
  • Conduct research and analysis and prepare reports in accordance with funder and regulatory guidelines
  • Meet established targets on job leads and job placements
  • Monitor and communicate information regarding local job trends and status of community resources with Employment Service Providers and other key stakeholders
  • Enhance collaboration and cooperation between service lines to ensure service integration
  • Efficiently operate a personal computer to enter, edit and/or retrieve data and to produce reports and documentation
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of local employment market opportunities, barriers and trends
  • Understanding of potential client circumstances that may impact employment opportunities
  • Knowledge of educational and vocational appraisal techniques
  • Accurate, timely recordkeeping and attention to detail
  • Ability to resolve/deescalate crises; knowledge and use of crisis intervention skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong presentation skills
  • Ability to problem solve and multi-task

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Communications or related field or equivalent combination of experience and training
  • Experience working with low-income, at-risk teens and adults in job development, facilitation and career preparation is required
  • Prefer experience in workforce or vocational area of specialty
  • A valid drivers license and current auto insurance required

Essential Functions/Physical Demands:

  • Positional: Occasional standing and walking. Frequent sitting. Driving in accordance with job duties as defined by position.
  • Gross Mobility: Rare climbing, or crawling. Infrequent balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Frequent to constant reaching and handling.
  • Sensory: Rare feeling, tasting/smelling. Infrequent use of color vision. Occasional use of far visual acuity, depth perception, and field of vision. Frequent use of near and midrange visual acuity, and visual accommodation. Frequent to constant talking/communicating.
  • Other physical demands as required by individual sites/locations.
