The United Association National Pension Fund (UANPF) is a multi-employer defined benefit pension fund established over 50 years ago. We are responsible for administering retirement benefits nationwide for over 160,000 hardworking members of UANPF and their families.
The Reciprocity Analyst I is a trainee position open for a maximum of 36 months. It is expected that after 18 to 36 months in the position, the analyst will have progressed sufficiently to be promoted to a Reciprocity Analyst II. The Reciprocity Analyst I processes reciprocal remittance reports received from bank lockbox, by mail and via download from UARS into basys; reviews reciprocal disbursement reports and makes corrections to members’ records to ensure proper reciprocity; researches and responds to reciprocal inquiries regarding hours and rates; receives and pursues all missing reciprocal hours inquiries from the Pension Department; maintains accuracy of member contribution records; and communicates with individual participants, locals and employers in order to answer questions regarding the accuracy of records. The Reciprocity Analyst is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of all data and information pertaining to the Fund’s operations and is not to disclose any proprietary information without proper authorization.

Responsibilities
Expectation to become proficient in the following areas:
- Become familiar with the UA National Pension Fund Reciprocal Agreement and the Pro Rata Partial Pension Addendum.
- Reviews, processes and enters less complicated reciprocal remittance reports into basys received from the UARS website, bank lockbox and by mail.
- Deposits local pension fund remittance checks received directly at the Fund office, verifying the amount received corresponds to the report and ensures the check is filled out correctly and is signed. Balances check deposits and gives necessary back-up to the Accounting Group.
- Performs a detailed and accurate review of less complicated reciprocal disbursement reports and member contribution records and makes corrections to the Member and CRM files as needed.
- Maintains local pension fund rate information and notifies Fund staff of rate increases/decreases.
- Reviews and processes simple reciprocal refund requests.
- Answers general correspondence and telephone inquiries from travelers and local pension fund personnel regarding hour and rate related reciprocal questions and other general inquiries related to reciprocal rules and procedures. Communicates with other pension funds and travelers regarding the status of contributions reciprocated or due to be reciprocated by the National Pension Fund.
- Researches and responds to less complicated Monthly Annual Statement and Annual Hours inquiries.
- Responds to inquiries received from the Pension Department regarding missing reciprocal contributions.
- Prepares all applicable documents for imaging including, wage rate sheets, missing hours inquiries, reciprocal correspondence, etc.
- Carries out any other duties assigned by the Reciprocity Group Supervisor, Assistant Supervisor and/or the Fund Administrator.
SALARY: Level IV ($1,197 per week)
HOURS: 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (37.5-hour work week)
