Kapitus is looking for a Data Scientist III to join our diverse data team to develop cutting edge solutions to complex business problems using machine learning, statistical and mathematical modeling, and advanced analytics. What you will do:
- Work with the Risk team to identify and implement policy and pricing decisioning rules
- Strategize and work with other data scientists to develop machine learning including but not limited to credit risk, marketing, fraud, and customer lifetime value.
- Provide leadership on model governance
- Identify new data sources that add lift to predictive modeling capabilities; work with bureaus and other data services to satisfy data requirements
- Provide guidance about appropriate Machine Learning algorithms for achieving superior results in model building and explaining
- Provide cross functional leadership to achieve smooth and efficient deployment of models and decision engines to the business
- Conduct analysis and turn insights into actionable changes for predictive models or policies; have experience identifying and prioritizing the business impact
- Recommend ongoing improvements to methods and algorithms currently in production
- Communicate with stakeholders, delivering informative and effective findings, results, and recommendations
- Mentor data scientists on business topics and data science skills
What we are looking for:
- MS or PhD in Economics, Marketing, Statistics, Finance, Survey Research or another related quantitative field
- 5+ years financial services experience
- 5+ years building models in an applied context
- Strong attention to detail; excellent communication and project management skills
- Thorough understanding of machine learning techniques
- Ability to perform exploratory data analysis and visualization
- Experience with marketing mix modeling, digital attribution modeling, multivariate regression, time-series modeling, Bayesian statistics, segmentation modeling, machine learning, data mining, simulation, optimization, forecasting
Additional Requirements:
- Econometric modeling, traditional modeling techniques (regression, tree-based models), deep learning
- Agile, Scrum experience
- Technical experience with Python, SQL, Linux, AWS

- Competitive Base Salary of $118,000-$189,000 (Salary dependent on experience level and geographic location)
