The Role

Tax Interns will gain wide-range exposure to the public accounting field by working with staff, seniors, managers, and partners during this 12-week internship. Our interns become part of the team from day one. We offer a robust onboarding period where interns gain professional learning and understanding of the systems used for basic tax assignments. As they gain experience, interns are given more difficult assignments and greater responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and summarize tax information into workpapers
  • Prepare individual tax returns, entity tax returns, and trust tax returns from start to finish in accordance with IRC sections and regulations
  • Obtain exposure to the types of tax engagements offered by the firm
  • Preform due diligence to identify tax exposures and opportunities
  • Develop a working knowledge of tax research techniques and the various research sources in the firm library
  • Participate in data analytics using firm technology and tax software

Qualifications

  • Pursuing or graduate of an undergraduate or master’s degree in accounting or finance
  • A goal to obtain the Certified Public Account or Enrolled Agent license
  • Completion of Intermediate I Accounting class by time of internship
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work 40-55 hours per week, dependent upon departmental workflow requirements.
