Description

The Strategic Engagement Manager will focus on creating new sales and client relationships with executive sponsors across various product suites as well as assisting in upsells.

 

This role is available to candidates located in NC, NJ, NY, PA, TX, MI, WI, SC, FL, VA, OH, IL.


 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct consistent prospecting activities to build steady stream of qualified new opportunities, including analyzing marketing teams results (warm leads), market research, prospecting calls/emails and participation in higher education conferences and Academic Analytics-sponsored events
  • Utilize travel time and company resources wisely, arrange 1:1 appointment for conferences and strategic leadership meetings during campus visits
  • Develop and execute strategic plan for selling services to a defined pool of targeted universities
  • Create and maintain opportunities in Salesforce. Contact roles, dispositions, stage, close date, activities, next steps, stages, and history
  • Engage and build relationships with university executives (President, Chancellor, Provost, VP-Research, Deans) to identify their key challenges/opportunities, and propose proactive selling solutions in line with Academic Analytics’ value proposition
  • Implement additional strategies (where applicable) engaging with IR officers, Associate Deans, etc. to build a bottom-up approach.
  • Conduct consultative sales presentations on campus and via Zoom with university leaders (others) to educate decision makers and stimulate purchase decisions
  • Successfully negotiate and close multi-year client contracts with prospective client universities
  • Identify and utilize internal resources when necessary to present Academic Analytics in most favorable light to complete successful sale. Senior Advisors, Senior Executive Team, Product Team, Tech Team
  • Collaborate with colleagues on Academic Solutions Team to ensure smooth transition of new client relationships into hands of assigned account managers
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years experience selling complex solutions to senior-level decision makers. (experience selling to higher education preferred)
  • Experience selling to, working for or supporting research universities based in the U.S.
  • Ability to travel to conferences and client meetings (approximately 40% travel), potentially with short notice
  • Strong preference for candidates from SaaS / technology-enabled services companies 
  • Bachelor’s or graduate degree from research university in the U.S.
  • Experience working with external and internal clients to formulate business requirements and conceive innovative solutions.
  • Comfortable applying analytical techniques to address business problems and communicating results to technical and non-technical audiences.
