Responsibilities: The Horticulture Specialist performs work necessary to provide a clean, vibrant, and healthy landscaped environment for zoo guests to enjoy. This position assists the Horticulturist with horticulture planning and support, supervision, and training of department staff as well as planning, installation, and maintenance of flower beds, planters, and general landscapes; maintaining shrubs, trees, and turf; tropical plant care; leaf cleanup; snow removal; landscape projects; and horticulture equipment maintenance. Requirements: Two years of horticulture or related experience and valid driver’s license are required. Must be at least 18 years of age. Associate’s degree in horticulture science, botany, forestry, or a related field is preferred.
