JSL enriches the lives of older adults by providing housing and services that enable our residents to thrive within our communities. We have campuses in West Bloomfield and Oak Park with six senior living communities which include independent and assisted living.

Position Overview: The Assistant Administrator is responsible for supporting the Campus Administrator in the overall management and performance of the property. Ensures the highest quality of resident services and care, within budgetary guidelines, while meeting, or exceeding community quality and service standards. Responsible for complying with federal, state, local and facility policies, procedures, and regulations.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Works directly with the Campus Administrator to ensure the campus is running smoothly and properly.
  • Works closely with the compliance coordinator and leasing team to ensure compliance with Fair Housing and HUD laws as well as regulatory requirements.
  • Tracks apartment turnover and updates electronic turnover board and shares any change of status with team/ maintenance staff.
  • Manages Key fob system and electronic communications through Voice friend.
  • Supervises front desk reception staff scheduling and assignments.
  • Maintains resident retention by working with residents and their families, addressing any issues that arise.
  • Ensures that buildings, grounds, and property are maintained at the highest standard of excellence, submitting work orders as needed.
  • Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, families, and co-workers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a senior living community environment and affordable housing experience.
  • Effective communication with tenants, residents, vendors, and staff.
  • Strong customer service skills.

  • Time Management: Prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Detail-Oriented: Maintaining accurate records and following procedures.

  • Lease Agreements: Understanding and enforcing lease terms.
  • Computer Proficiency: Using software for property management, accounting, and communication.
