Our House of Portland is a program apart of Cascade AIDS Project (CAP). Our House provides integrated health and housing services to people with HIV. Guided by compassion, collaboration, and respect, we provide 24-hour specialized care, supportive services, and independent housing with support services. Our House and Cascade AIDS Project and are excited to announce that we are hiring skilled and team-oriented Medication Technician. This position is responsible for working within the framework of the interdisciplinary team approach to provide residents with medications and direct care as directed by the licensed nurse in charge of the floor. This includes assisting with dietary and environmental needs as needed.
This is a Part-Time role (.8 FTE) working at Our House in SE Portland. The schedule for this role is Sunday- Wednesday 6:30am-3:00pm.
The starting pay is $24.33 and hr. with an additional $1 for weekend shifts. Pay for the Medication Technician increases with tenure and the top of the pay scale is $28.08. This is a union represented position, so the compensation, benefits and conditions of work are collectively bargained.
Who You Are
- 1-year previous caregiving or other healthcare-related experience
- Ability to pass DHS background check.
- Prior experience passing medications.
- A strong understanding of issues relevant to people living with HIV, communities of color, and the LBGTQ+ community and how those issues affect or influence service delivery.
- Ability to cultivate and maintain professional relationships across a multicultural spectrum of organizations and professionals
- Strong initiative & self-starter with the ability to effectively solve problems
What You’ll Do
- Responsible for administration of medications as directed by the Licensed Nurse in accordance with Physician Orders, State Regulations and the Nurse Practice Act.
- Maintains accurate records of medications provided or omitted, including controlled substances, in each resident’s Electronic Medication Administration Record.
- Provides direct resident care while promoting the resident’s dignity, independence and choice.
- Maintains a neat, clean facility, including common areas and Resident living space
- Performs other duties as assigned
