Bilingual PrEP Navigator

Cascade AIDS Project is excited to announce that we are hiring skilled and team-oriented Bilingual PrEP Navigator. The primary focus will be on building community partnerships, conducting outreach events, social media marketing, outreach on geosocial networking apps, and collaborating with our testing team. The Navigator will also work with individual clients to address barriers to PrEP access, including identifying providers, medication adherence services, enrollment with payment assistance plans, and OHP (Oregon Health Plan) enrollment. In conjunction with services delivered within and related to PrEP, the PrEP Navigator will ensure that participating clients receive relevant HIV/STI-related education and services, sexual health information, and appropriate referrals.

 

This is a Full-Time role (40 hr a week) working at our Davis St location in the Old Town area of Portland. The schedule for this role is Hybrid 3days in office 2 day remote. Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm. This position may needs to commute around the Portland Metro area

Starting pay is $23.29 an hour +$2.00 Bilingual pay. This equates to $52,603.20 a year. The Bilingual PrEP Navigator’s pay increases with tenure and the top of the pay scale is $27.04. This is a union represented position, so the compensation, benefits and conditions of work are collectively bargained.

 

Who You Are

  • 2 years of experience working in Community Health or a Bachelor’s Degree in human/social services field (social work, public or community health, psychology) or related field or lived experience relevant to this position
  • Familiarity with how HIV is transmitted and prevented as well as familiarity with Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) and PEP (Post Exposure Prophylaxis)
  • Verbal and written fluency in Spanish
  • Valid Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Understanding issues relevant to ethnic, racial, economic, and sexually diverse populations, including people living with HIV, communities of color, and the LBGTQ+ community
  • demonstrated ability to work independently with accountability, exercise sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism.

 

 

What You’ll Do

  • Implement CAP’s PrEP navigation services, including education and outreach, and medication adherence services, promoting knowledge about PrEP and prevention skills amongst high-risk clients.
  • Design, implement, and distribute advertising and educational campaigns for PrEP in the Portland metro and surrounding areas
  • Provide outreach in a variety of settings (including but not limited to; health, community, and social venues) to all relevant communities with a focus on outreach in the MSM and Men of Color communities to reach young gay/bisexual men and trans individuals to assist with decreasing disparities in care
  • Update and maintain information of providers with Oregon and Washington state who prescribe PrEP and who provide their services in a culturally affirming manner.
  • Review and maintain up-to-date and accurate knowledge of emerging scientific research regarding biomedical HIV prevention strategies, including PrEP, PEP, and related interventions.
  •  Contribute to applications for renewal of funding for current contracts and other new Requests for Proposals (RFPs), as needed
