Certified Recovery Mentor

The Our House Residential Care Facility (RCF) is a 14-room facility with a team of expert clinicians who work with people living with HIV who are having difficulty managing independent living. By tailoring nursing, social services, and therapeutic everyday activities our clients and residents are able to define what ‘living well’ means to them. Our House a program apart of Cascade AIDS Project is excited to announce that we are hiring skilled and team-oriented Neighborhood Housing and Care Program (NHCP) Certified Recovery Mentor (CRM). The CRM will assist clients in navigating a wide variety of challenges to their recovery. This position works to identify substance use support needs, develop individualized service plans, connect individuals to resources, promote greater independence, community integration, and supports recovery.

This is a Full-Time role working at Our House location in SE Portland. The schedule for this role is Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm. Some nights and weekends are required.

Starting pay is $22.77 an hour which is equivalent to just over $47,370 a year. The NHCP Certified Recovery Mentor’s pay increases with tenure and the top of the pay scale is $26.52. This is a union represented position, so the compensation, benefits and conditions of work are collectively bargained.

 

 

Who You Are

  • High School Diploma or a GED.
  • A valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and the ability to be insured by Our House automobile insurance.
  • Community engagement experience.
  • Attainment of Certified Recovery Mentor Credential within 3 months of hire (Program will assist)
  • Ability to pass DHS (Department of Human Services) background check.
  • A working knowledge of the local drug and alcohol treatment system.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Works collaboratively with the NCHP team as this program provides wholesome multi-disciplinary services.
  • Provides recovery education to individuals in every phase of the recovery journey including pre-contemplation, preparation, and sustained recovery and maintenance.
  • Assists individuals in developing client centered goals for defining and advancing in the recovery path.
  • Maintains in-person visits with clients in the community where they are, e.g., in the home, public community spaces, on the street.
  • Utilizes company vehicles to transport oneself to client visits, as well as transport clients to community resources and medical appointments.
  • Provide accurate, complete, timely and current written and database records, including client interactions and progress toward individual goals.
