Job Description:
The Heavy Equipment Technician will work with engineers to develop and evaluate new calibrations for natural gas engines. The testing may occur with the engine installed in either a dyno test cell or within a generator and, utilizing a load bank. The test technician will be responsible for maintaining the test environment, instrumenting the engine for temperatures, pressures, and other measurements, maintaining calibration of test equipment, and helping to ensure the data collected is of high quality. The technician will be responsible for installing new test articles on engines and ensuring the engine and test cell are operating properly. Will be involved with troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical issues in the test cell and engine systems
Essential Duties:
- Responsible for test cell operations and maintenance.
- Responsible for all the Load Bank maintenance and repairs.
- Maintains records of the Load Bank for compliance.
- Assists and participates in routine inspections and makes modifications to natural gas engines and generators.
- Makes electrical and mechanical wiring modifications to control circuits.
- Maintains a safe and effective working environment at all times.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
