POSITION SUMMARY:
To assist the Salvage and Transportation Manager in managing the activities of the Logistic and Salvage Department. The position assists in providing logistical support for all salvage goods, transportation and donations; facilitating the receiving and processing overflow of donated goods and for maximizing the value of such goods and distribution; monitoring and supervising the operation of forklift and other salvage equipment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Position may perform some or all of the duties described below):
- Responsible to maximize and ensure efficiency of warehouse and dock activities.
- Assign and supervise Material Handlers and Class-C and/or Class-A Drivers as needed and in conjunction with the Warehouse Salvage Operations Manager.
- Coordinate pickup and delivery of product and supplies to Goodwill Stores. Coordinate and monitor Target Product pickups from Target Stores ensuring compliance with all program practices and procedures.
- Enforce loss prevention procedures and policies.
- Supervise all warehouse and dock functions such as receiving donated goods, directing donors to proper location, issuing receipts, unloading/loading, pre-sort, seasonal storage, sort and select merchandise to be sent to each store, etc.
- Perform all necessary personnel functions as determined by company policies and procedures including record keeping, scheduling, time and attendance, payroll management, disciplinary functions, evaluations and training for all warehouse personnel.
- Perform and/or supervise housekeeping duties. These duties include but are not limited to, cleaning and maintaining warehouse area. Perform and/or supervise sorting and processing of all salvage materials and trash.
- Assist Warehouse Salvage Operations Manager as needed.
- Enforce and effectively communicate company policies and procedures to all personnel.
- Complies with Safety and Loss Prevention policies and procedures .Report and document safety hazards, potentially hazardous conditions, and unsafe practices and procedures.
- Responsible to practice and ensure the observance of safety policies and procedures by those supervised.
- Attends meetings and training sessions as required.
- Maintain a high level if confidentiality and cooperative working relationships at all times.
- Maintains professional, polite and positive relationship with Clients, Customers, and Coworkers at all times.
- Provides all necessary customer service while projecting a positive image during public contact.
- Able to work a retail work schedule including rotating shifts and weekends.
- Conduct investigations to verify and resolve customer or shipper complaints.
- Direct inbound or outbound logistics operations, such as transportation or warehouse activities, safety performance, or logistics quality management.
- Responsible to manage housekeeping duties. These duties include but are not limited to: cleaning and straightening of the production areas by sweeping, mopping, washing and/or dusting as needed. Also attend to department safety conditions as necessary and determined by company policy.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of five years’ experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified, including supervisory experience in preferred. Demonstration of excellent oral, written and documentation skill sets. Proficient technology and computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrated ability in managing databases regarding client information. Basic mathematical skills and the ability to read English.
Language Skills: Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, managers, employees, clients, customers, and the general public using tact, courtesy and cooperativeness.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables; exercise judgment, resourcefulness, ingenuity and initiative.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Effective interpersonal and communications skills to interact effectively with all levels of management and staff. Proficient skills in Microsoft software; willingness and ability to become an in-house expert on those systems peferred. Ability to operate office equipment, including computer, telephone, cell phone, tablet, fax and copy machine. Must exhibit a high level of integrity and business ethics.
