Job Title: Dean of Student Life - Denver Christian High School
Location: Denver Christian School – Lakewood, CO
Position Type: Part-Time, FTE .5

Reports To: High School Principal

Salary Range: $26,104 - $52,296

 

Job Summary:

The Dean of Student Life oversees student conduct and discipline, implementing a biblical behavior management system with restorative practices. This role involves managing disciplinary issues, leading teacher training on classroom management, and enhancing student leadership programs. The coordinator also fosters spiritual growth through small discipleship groups, oversees student life events, and ensures a positive school culture. Additionally, the coordinator manages student attendance, communicates with parents, and maintains a student activities calendar, while remaining visible and approachable to encourage dialogue and collaboration among students and staff.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee student conduct and discipline, implementing a biblical behavior management system and restorative practices, including managing daily issues and detentions, and communicating with parents.
  • Lead teacher training on discipline strategies, classroom management, and restorative practices.
  • Develop student leadership programs, such as CFA Leader Academy and StuCo, and promote community involvement.
  • Collaborate with the chaplain to enhance discipleship groups (Homerooms/Crews) for spiritual growth.
  • Oversee student retreats and orientation, communicating with students, staff, and parents.
  • Foster a positive school climate that supports growth, collaboration, and trust.
  • Manage student-focused events and leadership opportunities like Homecoming and dances.
  • Monitor and follow up on student attendance, working with teachers, counselors, and parents to support academic success.
  • Develop and maintain a student activities calendar, ensuring clear communication with students, teachers, and administration.
  • Be visible and approachable among students, encouraging dialogue and creativity.
  • Serve on the HS Admin and Student Care Teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 10 years of teaching experience – High School level.
  • Leadership in a school community.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Walking or Moving Around:
    • Employees may need to walk to different areas of the office, attend meetings, or retrieve documents, but walking is typically minimal compared to other roles (e.g., retail or manufacturing).

    •  Some office roles may require light physical tasks, such as lifting boxes of supplies, office materials, or packages (usually no more than 10–15 pounds).

 

Working Conditions:

  • Indoor Environment:
    • The work is generally performed in an office setting, often with controlled temperature, lighting, and ventilation.  
  • Regular Office Hours:
    • Office jobs typically follow standard working hours, often from 7:30 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday. occasional evening or weekend work required for events or time-sensitive communications.
  • Technology Use:
    •  Work typically involves using computers, phones, and other office equipment, such as printers, scanners, or copiers.
