PRIMARY FUNCTION: Serving meals, adherence to nutrition site requirements and paperwork, and cleaning the congregate space after the meal.
TYPICAL WORK CONDITIONS: Work is performed in the congregate meal space at the nutrition site.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Obtain paperwork as required.
- Prepares the meal count for the next day.
- Communicates with the participants.
- Receives and serves the food at acceptable temperatures.
- Conducts fire drills.
- Provides nutrition training.
- Assures that the congregate space is cleaned daily.
- Maintain records of food temps according to policy.
- Work with volunteers, community partners, and funding monitors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma with related kitchen experience or an Associates Degree preferred.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Must have or be able to pass the test for ServSafe certification.
- Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check, physical and drug screen, to include marijuana/THC.
- Perform other duties as assigned up to and including participation and attendance at agency events.
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to drive your own vehicle from home office to Nutrition Site. (Mileage is reimbursed at IRS rate as applicable.)
- Valid Drivers License.
- Must have basic computer skills and be able to learn new technology.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
- Physically push and pull carts loaded with meals and other products weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Have the ability to lift in excess of 40 pounds.
- Have the ability to work in kitchen environment.
- Have the ability to be aware of surrounding environment.
- Have the ability to hear and follow instructions.
- Must be in general good health and demonstrate emotional stability.
- Have the ability to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
- Sit, bend, lift, move and stand for extended periods of time during working hours.
