Description

In an environment of continuous quality improvement, the Therapy Supervisor is responsible for evaluating patients, establishing treatment plans, and administering medically prescribed therapy to restore function following disease, injury, or disability.  Participates as an integral part of the interdisciplinary treatment team on all matters concerning patient care.  Works to coordinate scheduling and administrative issues within their specific discipline with respect to the rest of the team.  Will also participate in performance evaluations, outcome management and marketing activities.  Exhibits the Standards of Excellence and exercises strict confidentiality at all times.

 

Job Functions:

  1. Demonstrates effective teaching skills.
  2. Completes documentation in a thorough and professional manner and in accordance with all policies, procedures, and in compliance with ACHC standards.
  3. Collaborates with other providers to facilitate the optimal outcome for each patient.
  4. Has the authority and responsibility to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, discipline, direct, or recommend such actions by using independent judgment.
  5. Completes and conducts employee performance evaluations based on direct observation of their employee’s job performance.
  6. Granted authority to perform the supervisory duties and are held accountable for performing such duties.
  7. Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.

 

Physical therapist, occupational therapist, or speech therapist:

 

  1. Completes therapy evaluations based on diagnostic and prognostic testing methods.
  2. Independently provides treatment modalities and techniques in a safe and effective manner according to departmental policy and procedures.

 

Audiologist:

 

  1. Performs quality audiological and hearing aid evaluations.
  2. Selects and fits most appropriate hearing aid for patient as well as assistive listening devices.
  3. Independently obtains prior authorization for services provided, orders hearing aids and expands hearing aid sales.

Qualifications

Minimum Education/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Recreational/Speech & Language Pathology, or Audiology required.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Current licensure in the State of Ohio or, if working in WV, a WV license or privileges is required. 
  • A Certificate of Clinical Competence by The American Speech, Language and Hearing Association, if applicable, is required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Maintain compliance in RQI.

 

Special Knowledge, Skills, Training:

  • Requires excellent interpersonal communication skills, excellent eye/hand coordination, manual dexterity, and basic numerical skills.
  • Must be capable of assisting with transfer lifting of patients.

 

Compensation Details:  Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
