Description

In an environment of continuous quality improvement, the Clinical Quality Value Analyst (CQVA) leads and directs strategic sourcing activities throughout the health system for a wide variety of medical products. In this role, the CQVA will actively engage physicians and clinical leadership in value-based variation reduction related to both clinical practice, products, devices and supplies. Thie CQVA Clinician will serve as a non-voting member of the CQVA planning committee on Surgical, Nursing, Operational and executive committees. Additionally, this role will provide system leadership to effectively coordinate change management systems that result in the establishment and adherence to a streamlined method of reducing variation of product/ service selection, utilization, quality and cost. The incumbent will push clinical and strategic expertise that facilitates supply and other service expense management while continuously improving processes that support safe patient care, education and research.

 

Job Functions:

  1. Participates/works closely with cross-functional sourcing teams to drive system-wide priorities and achieve service and quality excellence, knowledge transfer for replication of “best practice” strategic sourcing for the cardio-vascular and surgical service lines.
  2. Participates and takes lead with sourcing teams on identifying strategic sourcing opportunities to source and implement effective strategic sourcing strategies for the cardio-vascular and surgical services supply/equipment management focus areas.
  3. Defines and shares strategies and visions with leadership.
  4. Serves as the system representative for the cardio-vascular and surgical services sourcing initiatives.
  5. Participates as the system’s representative to develop communications and implementation strategies that ensure the system’s stakeholders interests are included in the final decision.
  6. Prioritizes assigned projects by the Director, supply chain; leads strategy development; manages request for information (RFI) and request for proposals (RFP); processes, leads negotiations and assists in the implementation of approved sourcing initiatives.
  7. Tracks and measures supplier performance and costs to agreed upon baseline measurements.
  8. Monitors contract compliance and optimizes contractual obligations to realize maximum pricing schedules.
  9. Assesses procurement needs at each if the entitles within the system and makes recommendations to the Director, Supply Chain for coordinating and improving operations and implementing programs and procedures to optimize savings in the cardiovascular and surgical services.
  10. Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.

Qualifications

Minimum Education/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing required; master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of hospital-based nursing experience required.
  •  License in the State of Ohio as a registered nurse required.
  • Management experience preferred.
  • Analytical experience with knowledge of financial and accounting concepts preferred.

 

Special Knowledge, Skills, Training:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite  (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to learn new software programs.
  • Strong communications skills, interpersonal, organizational, and facilitation skills, including the ability to negotiate, resolve conflicts and build teams.
  • Possess both oral and written including the ability to give presentations to physicians, clinicians, and administrators.
  • Demonstrated problem-resolution skills. Understands inter-working of supply chain activities.
  • Attention to detail and follow-through. Analytical and quantitative skills including data gathering, organization, assessment, reporting, and presentation.
  • Independent and self-motivated, and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Promotes teamwork and creates winning solutions and builds relationships.

 

Compensation Details:  Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
