Description

In an environment of continuous quality improvement, the Net Patient Revenue Analyst assists the Controller/ Sr. Director of Finance in ensuring appropriate reimbursement from all government payor sources, preparing required governmental reimbursement reporting, including cost reports and HCAP reporting, and analyzing data for preparation of monthly third-party A/R payor estimates. Exhibits the MHS Standards of Excellence and exercises strict confidentiality at all times.

 

Job Functions:

  1. Assist in the preparation of the Medicare, Medicaid, and Tri-Care annual cost reports.
  2. Prepare the interim annual cost estimates for intermediary to adjust rates and settle.
  3. Prepare quarterly estimates of interim cost report settlements.
  4. Accumulate and analyze patient related information for annual HCAP reporting.
  5. Assist in the tracking, billing, and reporting of the Interns and Residents associated with Graduate Medical Education (GME).
  6. Prepare month-end estimates related to third party A/R balances.
  7. Analyze impact of changes to the government payor regulations.
  8. Provide reimbursement and regulatory updates to Executive team.
  9. Assist in the Budget process and determination of budgeted Net Patient Revenue.
  10. Coordinate and communicate with external regulatory agencies including cost report audit resolution.
  11. Assist Controller/Sr. Director of Finance in development of department policies and procedure.
  12. Project the impact of proposed initiatives on the Medicare reimbursement.
  13. Collaborate with the Revenue Cycle team on monthly basis to explain fluctuations in net patient revenue and find root cause if applicable.
  14. Support the monthly closing process by preparing journal entries and reconciling assigned general ledger accounts.
  15. Analyzes month to month fluctuations in case mix index by payer.
  16. Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.

Qualifications

Minimum Education/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or finance required.
  • Minimum five years experience in hospital reimbursement.

 

Special Knowledge, Skills, Training:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office [Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint] and Adobe.

 

Compensation Details:  Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
