Description

The Director, Development is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing the planning, execution, and strategic oversight of the organization’s annual fundraising campaigns. This includes both workplace and individual donor segments. The Director works closely with the Vice President, Development & Operations as well as the CEO/President to cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with high-value donors and partners to ensure fundraising goals are met or exceeded. In addition to managing a portfolio of 30 workplace campaigns, this role is responsible for leading a volunteer-driven development strategy, which includes leveraging board and strategic relationships.   The Director oversees a team of three which includes the Manager, Workplace Giving, the Manager of Grant Development, and the Manager, Individual Giving. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Annual Campaign Management 
    • Lead the planning, execution, and management of the annual campaign, encompassing workplace and individual donor segments.
    • Ensure strategies are effectively implemented to meet or exceed fundraising goals.
  • Support for Major Donors 
    • Provide strategic support to the CEO/President in managing relationships with donors contributing over $10,000
    • Assist in cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding high-value donors to enhance engagement and contributions
  • Volunteer-Based Development Strategy 
    • Lead and manage volunteer-based development strategies to encourage peer-to-peer solicitation.
    • Utilize board and strategic relationships to achieve fundraising goals.
  • Workplace Campaign Portfolio Management 
    • Manage a portfolio of the top 30 workplace campaigns, executing strategies to maximize engagement and fundraising results.
  • Volunteer-Based Development Strategy 
    • Lead and manage volunteer-based development strategies to encourage peer-to-peer solicitation.
    • Utilize board and strategic relationships to achieve fundraising goals.

Qualifications

Education: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field (required).
  • Advanced degree or relevant certifications (preferred).

Experience: 

  • 7-10 years of experience in fundraising or campaign management, with a proven track record in overseeing successful campaigns.
  • Experience in managing major donor relationships and workplace campaigns.

Skills: 

  • Expertise in campaign planning, execution, and donor engagement.
  • Strong relationship management, communication, and strategic planning abilities.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and volunteers.

Technical Skills: 

  • Proficiency in fundraising software and CRM systems.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and performance tracking tools.

Other: 

  • High level of ethical integrity and commitment to confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.

Compensation: $111,540 to $125,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
