Are you ready to kickstart your engineering career with a high-tech leader in the automation industry?

 

Beckhoff USA is currently seeking a paid full-time Automation Engineering Intern at the company’s Atlanta office in Alpharetta, GA. Beckhoff Automation is a fast-growing tech innovator in the automation space specializing in PC-based control technology.

 

As an Automation Engineering Intern, you will work with a team of highly skilled Sales and Application Engineers, directly reporting to a local team mentor. You will learn the basics of industrial automation and see firsthand how the sales and applications teams support the growth of the company. You will work on a variety of exciting projects that include hands on experience with a variety of our product lines, work in a team atmosphere, shadowing opportunities, and a variety of networking activities. We are seeking a driven self-starter who is eager to learn and can collaborate effectively with other regional team members and has a passion for automation!

  • Gain hands on experience with products, customer visits, and troubleshooting for customers.
  • Exposure to the sales process of both Sales Engineers and Application Engineers as they work with customers to troubleshoot and analyze their needs.
  • Extensive learning opportunities through hands on training, exposure to our Training team, and online training.
  • Collaborate with teammates and other intern groups to create projects using a multitude of different Beckhoff products.
  • Develop an understanding of new automation technology that is changing the global market.
  • Networking opportunities through customer visits, travel, and company events.
  • At the end of the internship, you will have the opportunity to present what you have learned to your peers and senior managers.

Qualifications

 

 

  • Have or pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business, Engineering or related technical field from a four-year college or technical school.
  • An eagerness to learn about automation hardware and software.
  • Basic level of programming proficiency in one or more languages.
  • Experience with hands on mechanical or electrical project(s).
  • Self-starter with a result driven personality.
  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills.
  • Ability to work in a high stress environment while maintaining professionalism.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including public speaking.
