We are looking for a seasoned, hands-on Electronic Repair Technician. Someone with a V1 license and electronics certification would be great. To work on Video Tape Recorders, with a strong electronic and mechanical background and solid AV experience.

Video Electronic Repair Technician doing VTR – Video Tape Recorder support.

· Repair and maintain all the various Broadcast Video Tape Recorders.

· Experience with Deck types are Sony 3/4”, 1”, and 1/2” formats.

· Experience with Panasonic D5 and DVC PRO decks.

· Must be able to perform a rebuild of the mechanical transport systems, including head and drum replacement, and electrical alignment.

· Perform preventive maintenance to the decks throughout the campus.

· Troubleshooting to component level

· Will be responsible for maintaining a parts inventory.

· Should have a strong electronic and mechanical ability – including the use of small tools.

· Must be able to read schematics, maintenance procedures, operate an oscilloscope, and have computer skills.

· Heavy lifting is required

 

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Electronic Technician Certificate a must.
  • Video/Audio background preferred
  • V1 electronic license
  • Familiarity with NTSC Test Equipment, patterns and charts.
  • Must have excellent soldering skills.
  • Understand – wiring diagrams, block diagrams, and reading schematics.
  • Interpersonal skills: such as communication skills, active listening and customer care
  • Diagnosis skills of technical issues
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly
  • Technical awareness: ability to match resources to technical issues appropriately
  • Service awareness of all organization’s key IT services for which support is being provided
  • Understanding of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide IT services
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment
