Position Summary

The Extended Day Program (EDP) Grade Level Coordinator is responsible for working alongside the Extended Day Program Director and EDP Teachers to plan for and provide safe, engaging care to Fessenden students at the end of their school day. They report directly to the Extended Day Program Director.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Planning a diverse calendar of activities monthly in collaboration with other EDP teachers.

  • Overseeing implementation of activities daily.

  • Overseeing grade levels’ transitions to and from EDP each afternoon, including transitions between spaces and individual students’ transitions to their own personal appointments (music lessons, tutoring, special clubs, etc).

  • Supervising “After-After” care for all students who stay from 4:30-5:30 several days/week.

  • In collaboration with the EDP Director:

    • Tracking students’ schedules and updating attendances accordingly.

    • Navigating challenges and developing solutions for individual students’ and groups’ behaviors.

    • Organizing and maintaining EDP space and inventory of materials and procuring new equipment to enhance programming.

  • Model appropriate, positive behavior for students and respond appropriately to challenging student behaviors.

  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance

  • Spend time outdoors daily except in cases of extreme inclement weather.

  • Perform other duties as required.

 

Schedule

  • 2024-2025 School Year (ends on June 10, 2025).

  • Monday- Friday 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm or 5:30 pm.

  • Some, but not all, EDP Teachers will come in at 11:30 on Wednesdays.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Successful criminal background check.

  • Prior experience in a related position working with children.

  • Current CPR/AED & first aid certification and child abuse prevention training (certification will be provided if needed).

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Enthusiasm for working with students in grades Pre-K through 4 and creativity to plan diverse activities.

  • Flexibility to adapt plans and lessons to meet time, material, and spatial constraints of EDP.

  • Classroom management skills to lead a group of children.
