We’re seeking an analyst to join our Customer Engagement Solutions research and advisory team. Our ideal candidate has senior-level expertise and experience, but we’d consider a more junior candidate who is eager to learn and grow. As an analyst, you’ll provide actionable, data-driven advice to our utility clients, with a focus on customer experience, contact centers, digital self-service channels (like mobile apps, chatbots, and websites), marketing, and communications.  

 

 

 

E Source provides predictive data science, research and advisory, and solution services to help utilities make decisions that benefit their customers, their bottom line, and our planet. 

 

 

 

What you’ll do 

 

  • Conduct research via primary and secondary sources (including phone interviews, internet searches, and in-depth reading) 

  • Create clear, concise, unbiased, data-driven, and action-oriented content for topically focused reports, blogs, webinars, and in-person events  

  • Respond to research requests from our utility members, often on a tight deadline  

  • Present or copresent research findings at virtual and in-person events 

  • Think critically to identify trends, best practices, and insights to help our clients better serve and engage with their customers  

  • Build subject matter expertise in one or more of the following areas: corporate communications, marketing (residential and business), customer experience, contact centers and customer care, digital self-service channels, or utility key account management 

  • Act as a supportive, collaborative member of the Customer Engagement Solutions team 

 

 

 

What will make you a good fit 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required 

  • At least five years of professional experience researching or working in relevant topical areas 

  • Ability to synthesize information to create actionable, succinct data-driven stories 

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint 

  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to set clear expectations, communicate regularly with internal and external clients regarding project milestones and status, deliver on established deadlines, and share research results in an easy-to-understand manner 

  • Exceptional research, analytical, writing, document preparation, and presentation creation skills 

  • Ability to work independently, with a sense of urgency, creativity, and decisiveness in an environment with tight deadlines and abstract work products 

  • Demonstrated interest in energy efficiency, water efficiency, or sustainability preferred  

 

 

 

Who is an ideal candidate for this role  

 

  • Research experience and passion. You’re a research professional with an impressive track record. We’d prefer a candidate with at least five years of experience. You have experience planning and delivering research projects of varying size, scope, and time frames. We’d prefer a candidate with experience in contact center operations, customer experience, account management, marketing and communications, and/or market research. 

  • Humility, a collaborative attitude, and a team-first mindset. You know there are things you don’t know, and that energizes you. You believe two brains are better than one, and you proactively seek support, advice, and guidance from others. You’re proficient at working across multiple teams to accomplish large and small goals.

  • An affinity for data. You seek good, comprehensive data to inform your decisions, while also acknowledging that sometimes you must rely on your judgement.

  • Industry experience. We’d prefer if you had experience working in or with electric, gas, dual-fuel, or water utilities.

The budgeted salary for this position is $60,000 - $90,000 + annual bonus up to 8%. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.

 

 

 

This role will be 100% remote.
