KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION OR TRAINING:
- Requires 3+ years experience in grant prospecting and writing, managing budgets and development support.
- Highly motivated, organized, detailed oriented, and efficient.
- Experience using Raiser’s Edge.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and quickly completing tasks on deadline.
- Excellent professional and technical writing skills, including grammar and style clarity required.
- Performs accurate data analysis and communicates data in formats that are easy to read and understand.
- Requires experience and skills with Microsoft 365 Suite.
- Demonstrated experience in maintaining highly accurate records and processes via paper and electronic systems.
- Deals with diverse styles and personalities and build strong and trusting relationships with peers, managers, volunteers, and internal and external partners.
- Demonstrated interest in, and passion for nonprofit work and animal welfare highly desired.

WORKING CONDITIONS:Â
A general, open, office environment. Potential hazards are exposure to eye and/or back strain. If handling animals there is a potential of animal bites, exposure to zoonotic diseases (diseases that can be transmitted from vertebrate animals to people), animal dander and noise.Â
- Equipment Used:Â Multi-line telephone, personal computer and printers, postage, copier or fax machines, animal leashes, collars and/or carriers, Seattle Humane vehicle.
- Work Hours:Â Normal business working hours, 40 hours per week, with occasional evening/weekend hours required to cover events. Attendance required at all-staff meetings and assigned training workshops, meetings or special events. Staff currently work in a hybrid setting, with a minimum of two in-office days per week.
