Civil Engineer - Land Development

 

BL is looking for individuals who have various levels of experience in utility design and/or land development, concept plan preparation, site design, stormwater management, and erosion and sediment control design.

 

STAFF ENGINEER:

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Experience with CAD and Civil3D

  • Research permit requirements and local regulations.

  • Coordinate with project team across multiple offices on design, permitting and construction components.

  • Provide support and assist Sr team members with subsurface utility mapping (SUE).

  • Assist with preparation of technical reports and plans to acquire permits and permit modifications during construction.

 

Requirements:

  • BSCE.  EIT preferred

  •  0-3 years of experience.

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil3D

  • Excellent technical, communication and organizational skills.

  • Knowledge of proposed and existing grades for site layout highly preferred

 

 

PROJECT ENGINEER:

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Map existing utilities following the principals of Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE), as defined in CI/ASCE 38-02, Standard Guideline for the Collection and Depiction of Existing Subsurface Utility Data

  • Linear utility design including layout of proposed natural gas mains and electrical transmission and distribution systems to avoid existing utility conflicts and provided least-disruptive, cost-effective solution.

  • Site layout of compression stations, regulating stations, and mainline valve permanent facilities.

  • Grade sites and design of post-construction stormwater management systems.

  • In-Depth use of Civil 3D to prepare alignments, surfaces, cut profiles, and generate contours.

  • Assist the Senior Engineer in procuring permits for utility installations, including researching regulations and attending agency meetings.

  • Coordinate with project team across multiple offices on design, permitting and construction components.

  • Prepare technical reports and plans to acquire permits and permit modifications during construction.

  • Research permit requirements and local regulations.

  • Coordinate with project team across multiple offices on design, permitting and construction components.

Requirements:

  • 3-7 years’ experience in utility design and/or land development, concept plan preparation, site design, stormwater management, and erosion and sediment control design

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D

  • BSCE. EIT Certification preferred. PE preferred

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

 

 

A Staff/Project Engineer at BL companies has an expected base salary of $65,000-105,000 per year, depending on experience.
