Description

Tahoe Donner Association is looking for fun and personable Sailing Instructors to join our Marina/Beach Club operations! The Sailing Instructor is responsible for providing sailing, wind surfing, and water safety instruction to our members and guests and assisting with the operations of the Beach Club Marina.  

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

  1. Provides excellent customer service to customers, employees and business partners.
  2. Maintain a working knowledge of Marina rules, regulations, and policies, including those pertaining to: parking lot, equipment rentals, the waterline, the docks, the beach, and the swimming areas, and enforce the rules accordingly.
  3. Maintain a working knowledge of the Association rules and enforce them accordingly.
  4. Instruct junior sailing program, private sailing lessons, windsurfing lessons and clinics and operate Getaway when scheduled.
  5. Provide guidance and training to Marina employees.
  6. Ensure facility equipment boats, kayaks, and wind surfers are in proper working order and well maintained.
  7. Perform maintenance on facility.  Perform weekly checklist and maintenance on all sailboats.
  8. Participate in the planning and execution of special events and programs.

We are looking for the following qualifications:

 

  • Demonstrates excellent communication and “People” skills; Must love dealing with people.
  • Sailing experience required.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid certifications are recommended. 
  • Able to work under inclement weather conditions.
  • Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.


These skills and abilities are typically acquired through an associate’s degree and/or six months to one-year of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of formal training, education and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform all of the duties of the position.
