Description

Chesapeake Neighbors was founded in 2007 by The Arc Central Chesapeake Region to provide, promote, and support safe, affordable, and accessible housing. Chesapeake Neighbors believes quality housing isn’t a luxury—it’s a right. We currently own and operate 70 units across central Maryland, and we anticipate operating over 100 within the next two years.

As we build the future of housing, the Senior Maintenance Technician will be an essential member of the Chesapeake Neighbors team. The technician will report to the Construction & Maintenance Lead and support the property management team in ensuring the quality and safety of residential and commercial units managed by Chesapeake Neighbors. The Senior Maintenance Technician will work alongside other maintenance technicians while facilitating repairs and assisting in small construction projects.

A typical day would include completing routine maintenance tasks such as installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining facilities and equipment using your carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing skills. Whether it’s preventative maintenance, following safety regulations and procedures, or communicating in a clear, timely, and professional manner, our Senior Maintenance Technician is a jack of all trades. You will be responsible for purchasing parts, equipment, and supplies, providing emergency repairs and joining snow removal efforts, and supporting with event logistics as needed.

Qualifications

This role requires a high school diploma or GED and three years of carpentry experience working in construction or property management. Certifications in plumbing, HVAC, or other facility-related trades are a plus. This position also requires a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record. Fluency in English is a must alongside customer service skills, following directions with minimal supervision, and using technology such as a computer and smartphone.
